Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Later ("the app", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. License grant
KBWorks grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Later on devices you own, strictly for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the Apple/Google store terms.
2. Your letters and content ownership
Everything you write in Later — every letter, feeling tag, and title — belongs to you. KBWorks claims no ownership over your content and, because Later has no server, has no access to it at all. You are solely responsible for what you write and for keeping your own backups (see Section 5).
3. Age requirement
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Later. By installing or using the app, you represent that you meet this age requirement, or that you are using it under the supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy the app, except where applicable law permits.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or tamper with the app's encryption or sealing mechanism.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app.
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
5. Sealed letters and permanent data loss — please read this
Later stores your letters only on your device. There is no cloud backup, no account, and no server-side copy of anything you write.
This means that if your device is lost, stolen, damaged, factory-reset, or has the app uninstalled — and you have not manually exported your letters beforehand — those letters are permanently and irrecoverably lost. KBWorks has no copy to restore them from, and no technical means to recover them.
This is not a bug or an oversight. It is a deliberate consequence of how Later is built: your words are meant to be seen only by you, which means Later is designed to hold no copy anywhere else that could be lost, leaked, or accessed by anyone but you — including us.
Later provides a manual export feature in Settings so you can keep your own backup if you choose to. Using it, or not, is entirely your decision and your responsibility. KBWorks is not liable for any loss of letters, memories, or data resulting from device loss, damage, reset, or app uninstallation.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a sealed letter will open exactly on the date chosen in every edge case (e.g. device clock changes, OS-level scheduling limits).
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KBWorks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of letters or data as described in Section 5 — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. KBWorks's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app or any in-app purchase giving rise to the claim.
8. Intellectual property
The app itself — its name, design, code, and artwork — is owned by KBWorks. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of that ownership to you beyond the limited license in Section 1.
9. Third-party platform services
Later runs on iOS and/or Android. Your use of the app is also subject to the terms and policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play, whichever platform you downloaded it from, including their purchase, refund, and content guidelines.
10. Termination
KBWorks may terminate or suspend your license to use the app if you materially breach these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Sections 2, 5, 6, 7, and 11 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in the jurisdiction where you live.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. The "Effective date" above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms; if you disagree, please stop using the app.
